Juan started studying Damascus steel making a 1991. He now works mostly with handmade Damascus using #1095 and L6 high carbon steel with his own handmade gas forge. And then the blade is hammered into 200 to 1200 layers of high carbon steel. It is the hand ground and finish into one of a kind piece of art. Many knives are embellished with free hand, cut scrimshaw on an antler horn or ivory being half a patchy and half Mexican.
