The squash blossom elements represent the flowering of the squash plant, symbolizing fertility and a sacred connection to the natural world.Richard Henry Yazzie (1927–2000) was a respected Navajo silversmith active from the 1950s through 2000. Born for the Red Running into the Water Clan, he came from a prestigious family of jewelers and served as the primary smith for notable trading posts such as John Kennedy and Gallup Trading.
